Dollar General Back-to-School Grants
Under the Back-to-School grant program, Dollar General will provide awards of up to $5,000 each for school libraries and school literacy programs within twenty miles of the nearest Dollar General store. The awards can be used to implement new programs or purchase new equipment, materials, or software. Deadline for submission is June 12, 2008, and awards will be announced August 15, 2008.
Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation’s Youth with Disabilites Grants
Mitsubishi Electric America is offering project costs or operating support to 501(c)(3) organizations that “enable young people with disabilities to have full access to educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities alongside their non-disabled peers.” Funding is open to disability-specific organizations as well as those that serve the general public. Preference is given to organizations where Mitsubishi Electric companies are located, but requests from all parts of the country will be considered. The deadline for 2009 funding requests is June 1, 2008.
